History of the Pennsylvania Fraternal Alliance The Pennsylvania Fraternal Alliance organized in 1901, is comprised of 57 fraternal societies licensed to do business in our great state. Our combined membership totals over 700,000 fraternalists. Within the Pennsylvania Fraternal Alliance, three regional associations have organized to further the ideals and goals of the state alliance. Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh Fraternal Societies of Northeast Pennsylvania Philadelphia Fraternals We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting a general awareness and interest in the fraternal benefit system while helping others. Our motto is "The Keystone of Fraternals, Joining Hands to Touch Lives." The Pennsylvania Fraternal Alliance was founded for the purpose of uniting fraternal benefit societies doing business in Pennsylvania. OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE To unite men and women who are associated with the fraternal benefit societies operating in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. To work in harmony with the American Fraternal Alliance for the welfare of the fraternal benefit system. To oppose any act or movement which is contrary to the best interest of the fraternal benefit system and to encourage the adoption of legislation and regulations which will preserve the traditions and protect the mutual interest of member societies. To create a better understanding of the fraternal benefit system. To promote publicity favorable to the image of the fraternal benefit system and to foster the true fraternal spirit among its members. To exchange ideas for the common good of its members and to establish a communications network among the officers and directors of all member societies.
